The Webby Awards is the leading international award honouring excellence on the Internet. Referred to as “the Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, it was established in 1996 during the Web’s infancy and is presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which includes an Executive 1,000-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities, including writers and editors from publications such as The New York Times, Wired, Details, Fast Company, Elle, and The Los Angeles Times. This year’s Webby’s received nearly 10,000 entries from over 60 countries worldwide.
